Rockin’ the Upper East Side – Cancelled

The “Rockin’ the Upper East Side” music festival has, we are sad to report, been CANCELLED. No Goo for you! The music festival, a presentation of David Carver Entertainment and originally scheduled for Sunday, Sep 5 at Glacier Concert Park in Mount Pearl, was to feature Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray, Lifehouse, Ke$ha and more. If you bought tickets at any of the participating retail locations across Newfoundland, you can return your tickets to the point of purchase to receive your refund. If you bought tickets online using a credit card, refunds should be automatic. Watch this article for more details coming soon.

Crash Karma Visit OZ, Host Winners Backstage, Rock

Congratulations to all of our Crash Karma winners! Lucky listeners won tickets to Crash Karma concerts in Marystown (Fri 8/27) and St. John’s (Sat 8/28), and Grand Prize winners at both shows got to go backstage – and bring 3 of their friends – to hang with the band. Big thanks to the Crash Karma band & crew, and staff at both venues, for being terrific hosts. The band also visited the OZFM studio and chatted with Capt. Eastcom Rock Phone Winners, Congrats!

OZFM listeners were given a fairly easy challenge with a huge Grand Prize… simply reveal the Secret Phone Number one digit at a time. Callers from all over the province competed for 4 full weeks (plus a day) and finally, after a very exciting contest with two games daily, OZFM listener John Furneaux successfully guessed the final number. George Street Festival Rocks!

The 2010 George Street Festival will certainly go down in history as the biggest and best yet. The street was packed full with enthusiastic audiences (including travelers from across Canada and around the world), for April Wine, Blue Rodeo, Our Lady Peace, The Novaks, Timber, Rex Goudie, Buddy Wasisname & The Other Fellers, Tara Oram, Charlie Major and many more. Tonight is the 6th and final night – the George Street Kitchen Party with Alexander Keith’s. Somebody will win a VIP trip for 2, and performances include Celtic Connection, Siochana, and Kilkenny Krew.

Thanks to all who made the 2010 George Street Festival a huge, unbelievably fun success. Big thanks especially to Bud Light, Lamb’s Rum, the George Street Association, NTV, The Newfoundland Herald, and of course your Rock of the Rock, OZFM.

Classic Rock Night w/ April Wine

The 2010 George Street Festival is 6 awesome nights of live music (including Our Lady Peace, Blue Rodeo, Rex Goudie, The Novaks plus MUCH more) and on-the-street summertime revelry! Weezer Rocks St. John’s with Hot Hot Heat

Weezer, with special guests Hot Hot Heat, rocked Mile One Centre in St. John’s! The July 22 concert was almost TOO much fun, and fans leaving the show could be heard declaring it the best show, or “definitely in my all-time Top 5!”, concerts to come to the city. It was a sold-out show and OZFM jammed the place with rows upon rows of lucky listeners who won their tickets on OZFM.

You’ll hear this one coming. It’s the brand-new Rock Star Coach from Party Bus, and it’s the only thing quite like it – complete with seating for 60, multiple TV screens, awesome sound system, 2 dance poles, light show, a bar for the grown-ups, and it screams ROCK!
